Scrappin Patch Use your Stash Challenge

This is the last of 4 challenges at Scrappin Patch, I would have liked to have done the others (because it's always good to use up your stash) but all my scrapping stuff was packed up due to the earthquake repairs / painting of our house.

I started this one at the retreat 2 weeks ago and didn't get it finished but the challenge has been extended to 25th Sept due to a technical issue at Scrappin Patch.

So this is a recipe challenge:

1 piece cardstock
2 patterned papers (can be double sided)
2 photos
3 (at least) buttons, brads or tinpins
Chipboard title

You can add in anything else to your layout as long as all items are from your stash & prior to 2012 releases.

I have used Pink Paislee Hometown Summer papers & chipboard pops, I bought these last year & since then have been looking at them wondering what to do with them. I've tried to keep it pretty simple as the papers are quite bright. The title is American Crafts Thickers.

These photos of the girls were taken on New Years Eve 2007 when they were playing this game in the yard. They had to balance a small container of water on their head & walk to the other end of the yard. Between the laughing, the balance issues & just trying to beat the other they both ended up quite wet.

Challenge Me Happy Birthday Hoopla - Norine

The seventh (last but not least!!) challenge is Norine's Birthday Challenge. We have to do a birthday layout of any kind. This photo is from brother's recent surprise birthday lunch. It was organised by his partner, he thought it was just them going for lunch at her restaurant but the rest of the family were there waiting.

Phew so that's the end of the Hoopla challenges - it has really stretched me doing 7 challenges in a month but I have thoroughly enjoyed it so thanks for that CMH & I hope to be joining in on more of their challenges in the future.

Challenge Me Happy Birthday Hoopla - Missy

The sixth challenge is Missy's challenge. It is a BOM (Book of Me) challenge & it is to include the words "Someday I hope to..." either in the title or the journalling. I hope it's ok that I didn't actually use a photo of myself on this challenge. I straight away thought about how I would love to go back to Europe again one day, I did the Contiki 14 countries in 52 days nearly 20 years ago. The photos that I have from back then are really not that good so the photos I have used are off the internet. Anyway here is my take:

Challenge Me Happy Birthday Hoopla - Lisa

The fifth challenge is Lisa's ad challenge. We were to be inspired by this ad that she got from Traditional Home Magazine:

I decided to use it like a sketch & as there was room for lots of photos decided to do a layout on the recent snow we had. Here is my take:

Challenge Me Happy Birthday Hoopla - Annelie

The fourth challenge was Annelie's photo challenge. We were to take inspiration from the following photo:

the first thing that I noticed with this photo was the word placement & colour. I have an alpha of a similar colour so decided to use the photo like a sketch. Here is my take:

Georgia loves to bake & her current favourite is cupcakes, here she & her friend Megan are making cupcakes for another friend's birthday, this was the fourth batch!!

Challenge Me Happy Birthday Hoopla - Marie

The third challenge is Marie's challenge & this is a sketch challenge. I do use sketches occasionally but I don't tend to play around with them to much & usually just stick to the basic format.

Anyway this was the sketch we had to use:

and my take on it:

Ever since we got a dog 6 months ago our cat has been very unimpressed & refused to even come into the house. She recently had to be kept inside after an operation & has finally got used to the dog & is even comfortable enough to go to sleep when he's around.

Challenge Me Happy Birthday Hoopla - Hannah

The second challenge is Hannah's recipe challenge, the ingredients are:

1 stamped image
2 staples
3 cardstock
4 words in title
5 patterned papers
6 stickers

Plus ink/mists & journalling if you like.

My stamped image is the leaves at the bottom of the flowers, 2 staples are on the beautiful sticker, 3 cardstocks are the black border, white backing the banner & green backing a sticker under the butterfly, 4 words in the title, 5 pp are the 2 main ones, also 2 in the flowers & 1 for the butterfly, 6 stickers are: lovely/beautiful/the banner & there are 3 layered underneath the butterfly-I hope these show up ok.

The photos are of Aimee all dressed up to go to the Year 8's leavers formal for her school last year. It is a special occasion as they finish primary school & move onto high school next year. As an added bonus Aimee was named best dressed girl for the night!
